Open enrollment season is underway and is shortened to only 6 weeks this year! Dec 15, 2017 is the deadline to enroll in a health plan for 2018! As you may have heard Arizona lucked out this year in that the average premium increase is around 2%, compared to 34% nationwide. Our guide to Arizona’s 2018 open enrollment explains which carriers can be found in Arizona this year and what type of plans they are offering. For those of you looking to keep your doctors and care at St. Joseph's in Phoenix, you've got options.
Individual health insurance accepted at St. Joseph's in Phoenix for 2018
Arizonans in the market for individual insurance accepted at St. Joseph Health Center are in luck. The hospital system has one of the more extensive listings of accepted private insurance plans we have seen nationwide.
Both on exchange plans, Ambetter and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona include St. Joseph as in-network. Individuals can also purchase in-network coverage off-exchange with Cigna and Medi-share which operates on the PHCS network plan.
Remember, if you qualify for tax subsidies to reduce your insurance premiums, the only way to utilize them is to purchase a plan on the marketplace exchange. Take Command Health can help you compare plans, check if you qualify for a subsidy, and route your application through the exchange.
Buyer Beware: Don’t be surprised by out of network charges!
We know our customers are savvy when it comes to saving money on health insurance and medical expenses. That’s why they use Take Command Health to help them shop and compare individual health insurance plans quickly and easily!
But did you know that out-of network charges can still be incurred even when you are at an in-network facility? Even though you are receiving care at an in-network facility, some of the health care practitioners may not be in-network! What does this mean for you? It means you need to confirm with everyone you meet with that they are in network- from the anesthesiologist, radiologist, and lab! At the end of your service, you may receive a balance bill from the nonparticipating facility-based physicians and health-care practitioners for amounts not covered by patient’s insurance plan.
